Chocolate Peanut Butter mug cake

Delicious treat!  Super easy and this single serving will mMug Cakeake you happy when you’re craving cake!

  • 2 tbsp self raising flour
  • 2 tsp cocoa powder
  • 3 tsp sugar/granulated sweetener
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter

Put all dry ingredients into a large mug (it does work in a “average” sized mug, but expect it to rise above the rim!) and mix.  Then add the vegetable oil and milk and mix again.  The mixture should be fairly thick.  Plop the peanut butter blob on top and push it down into the mixture slightly.  Put in the microwave for approx 1 minute (microwaves vary, so keep an eye on it!).  The sponge should have a slight spring to it when you take it out.  Leave to cool slightly and enjoy.

You’re welcome. :)

I would just like to say that – as an avid baker – do not make this your regular cake fix!  Baking a whole cake is a wonderful thing.  Making a mug cake is also a wonderful thing… CAKE IS A WONDERFUL THING! :)

If you decide to use an artificial sweetener in this rather than sugar, go ahead.  A product like Canderel has 2 calories per teaspoon compared to 20 calories per teaspoon of sugar, so if this is a treat for an adult, you can shave 54 calories off of the whole thing (which isn’t that much anyway).  It does need that little bit of sweetness to balance it all out.
